DPS Analysis

The picture is of Jessie J (Jessica Ellen Cornish).

The article is about her career and what she’s hoping to do. going forward.

Bright colours like yellow and shades of gold are used. White, pink, purple and black is also spotted around the spread.
The page is very fun looking (with polkas).

The audience for this type of magazine is for young people/musicians. She talks about wanting to shave her head for children in need to raise money for underprivileged parts of the world and underprivileged/malnourished children in third world countries.

The structured columns are tightly wrapped around the images - like Jessie's picture on the Voice and her body shot (taken from middle).  Jessie appears to look down slightly, but is still looking direct. Puffs are also used to quote from the article. The language used is formal - even though it's for young musicians, the language is not in anyway informal or derogatory.

Overall genre: Pop

  1. Again, a respectable attempt especially considering your late start to the course. You should have read the article and analysed the use of language. Use leytonmediahub.blogspot.com (use the Resources label) to find out about more media terminology that can be applied in this analysis. Vanessa
