Magazine Proposal
Good morning/afternoon Editors,
My name is Jessica Isaacs and I am here to propose
to you a great idea for a new music magazine.
My music magazine is called
MusicDanceStyle.
MusicDanceStyle is a music/dance
magazine with fashion advice and articles on new and upcoming artists and
dancers for the readers.
My chosen musical genre is Pop/Lyrical.
Pop
is mostly listened to by children, young people and adults. The genre appeals
to all ages – although, some artists swear in their music which can be seen as
inappropriate and/or offensive to certain religions and races. MusicDanceStyle sees this - but is also about positive and cleaner types of music for all ages, not just a select group. Some pop songs include Cold Water by Justin Bieber, Don't Look Down by Martin Garrix and Light it Up by Major Lazor.
However, Lyrical music is taken from the dance style lyrical, which is used to express the artist’s feelings in an artistic or striking way. This simply means "beautiful music."
Lyrical songs include Angel by Scarlett Cherry, Epiphany by Angela Predhomme, Say Something and the piano version of You Can Be Anything from the Wizards of Oz (featuring Glenna Bree). Lyrical music has less profanity in the words. Because the tune itself is so beautiful, to put taboo lexis into it would ruin the genre of the song and the message the artist is trying to communicate to the audience.
By
combining the two styles together, you get an upbeat but powerful and emotional
piece of music. You also get a creative view of the style and a fusion of love, passion
and beauty.
I hope you like my idea and I will now take questions.
Thank you for listening.
